Product Description

Zinc Stearate is the most widely used metallic soap in rubber and plastic processing — functioning simultaneously as a release agent (preventing adhesion to moulds and processing equipment), lubricant (reducing melt viscosity and improving flow), and vulcanisation activator/co-activator in rubber formulations. In rubber, it works synergistically with zinc oxide to activate sulphur vulcanisation. In PVC processing, it provides lubrication and heat stabilisation. In cosmetics, it provides the smooth, silky texture in face powders and pressed eyeshadows. MITCHEM exports to rubber compounders, plastic processors, and cosmetic ingredient manufacturers.

Applications by Industry

Rubber Processing (Release & Activator)

Internal release agent, lubricant, and vulcanisation co-activator in rubber compounds; reduces mould fouling and metal adhesion, facilitates compound mixing and processing, and activates sulphur vulcanisation with ZnO.

PVC Heat Stabiliser & Lubricant

External and internal lubricant in PVC processing; combined with calcium stearate in Ca/Zn stabiliser systems for heat-stable, lead-free rigid and flexible PVC compounding.

Tablet Compression Lubricant

Used as a die-wall lubricant in pharmaceutical tablet compression — reduces friction between tablet powder and die wall, preventing sticking and ensuring clean tablet ejection.

Cosmetic Powder Binder & Lubricant

Provides the smooth, silky skin feel in face powder, compact foundation, eye shadow, and blush formulations; acts as a binder improving pressed powder cohesion and payoff.
