Calcium Hypochlorite
Ca(ClO)₂ | CAS: 7778-54-3 | HS: 28281000
Product Description
Calcium Hypochlorite granules deliver a highly concentrated, stable source of available chlorine that is far more economical to store and transport than liquid sodium hypochlorite. With 65–70% available chlorine, it is the preferred disinfection solution for remote water supply projects, emergency humanitarian response, swimming pool programmes, and textile bleaching operations where continuous chlorine dosing infrastructure is unavailable. MITCHEM exports in sealed UN-rated HDPE drums to water utilities, government procurement agencies, pool chemical distributors, and industrial customers across the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
Applications by Industry
Granules dissolve to produce hypochlorous acid for primary disinfection in batch water treatment systems, water kiosks, and decentralised water supply in areas without continuous chlorination infrastructure.
The standard pool sanitiser in commercial and residential pools for shock dosing and routine chlorination; consistent available chlorine content ensures reliable residual maintenance.
Used as a concentrated bleaching agent for cotton fabric, yarn, and non-woven textiles; also used in pulp bleaching and industrial surface sanitation.
Widely deployed by government agencies, NGOs, and humanitarian organisations for sanitation of water sources, latrines, and outbreak-affected areas.
